Celica Forums General Discussion Exterior repainting front bumper

well the person who installed/painted my body kit did a less than average job. theres a good number of small paint chips on my front bumper and a really small piece of something chipped off the side(not sure if its think piece of paint or thin piece of fiberglass). well my dad and i were thinking of putting bondo there and repainting the bumper. is it hard? i saw a paint guide on the install section, would it be just like that? feedback would help plz

Only do this if you have an obsessive composite disorder, like a perfectionist or something!!!

If the paint did not have a good plasticizer in it the paint will come off with your fresh coat on top of it. I would remove the bumper, strip it with paint stripper, bondo it, seal it with a zinc chromate epoxy primer coat, then prime/paint it using standard practices recommended by the Mfg of the paint. Use a quality plasticizer so the paint will remain flexible!!!
