I think it's time to finnally put in some new speakers in my Celica. I'm running an Alpine headunit and a JL 12' 400w Sub. Any suggestions on where to buy speakers and what kind? I'm looking for a fairly nice set but nothing too outrageous just something to go a little better with my sub.

how powerful is your headunit? If you're not looking for anything too crazy I'd say go with the alpine component series. Either Type-S , Type-X, or Type-R, depending on what you can afford and whether you want to power the speakers off your headunit or get another amp to run more powerful speakers.

The alpine is an outdated model replaced by a newer version with XL. The only difference is the new one coms XL capable. So basically I have the top of line model still.
Yes my sub is a w7. So stick with JL you say? Any particularly speaker set? Thanks for the info.

i think that the w7 series subs are the best subs you can buy. i would keep the w7, get some infinity kappas in front and back. then go with an alpine deck. if i had some more money thats how i would have it, and it would sound great.

Welp I've got the alpine deck already . So guess all I need is the speakers thanks for the info. Ok as I said I'm not a big audio expert is there any realy difference between the 62.5i [ crutchfield.com] or the 63.5i [ crutchfield.com] models? Oh finnally are the speakers in the rear same size as the door speakers?

the 63.5 model looks better, no real sound difference...read the specs.

Thats what I thought but I wasn't sure how much the small diference in specs would make sound wise.

Well basically I'm looking for something with good quality but also plays louder because right now my sub overshadows the actual sound to much just a little but enough to annoy me. I was thinking about the infiniti because I have seen a lot of people tell me they like them. How noticable was the JL improvement over stock?
