I recently ran into some1 who is selling a 2000 GTS ECU. I have an 02 GTS and was wondering what is the difference between the 2? I know that it may have something to do with AT LEAST the Rev Limiter. If I buy it, could there be any NEGATIVE effects to my CAR after INSTALL?

Thanks,
Steve

What if this person's GTS didn't have power windows? Would the 00 ECU control my power windows? In other words, would I have to worry about NEthing ELECTRONICALLY if our POWER OPTIONS are different?

ALL GTS models come with power windows.
there is no effect if you switch it from 02 to 01 or 00 except the rev limiter.
but you have to take into consideration that you also have to change the knock sensor to a 00 or 01 model cz the 02 knock is different. that requires way more work than replacing ECU. i duno if you knew about this or not.

the knock sensor costs a well 150$
ive done this mod and i can say it was worth it cz a celica with a high rev limit isnt a gts.

Knock Sensor, huh? I heard something about that. Thanx, I'll keep that in mind. Well, considering I can get the ECU for under a $100, a knock sensor wouldn't B all the much of an inconvinience. Just gotta take care of my front bumper first. But to have that ECU lying around till I'm ready to buy the knock sensor could prove to B a WISE INVESTMENT.
