wondering which headers would be better, hotshot or dcsports, and also, i have a thermal exhaust, no resonator, injen cai, and a unorthodox pulley kit, is the headers gonna make a difference at all?

From what I've heard, no. But I have a feeling that although the higher end won't see much of a gain, the power in the lower end may be increased, thus more power overall. I can't prove that, but it's just a theory of mine. I'm sure it would make a difference if you had a PFC and tuned for them.

the GTS is the one that does not have any good aftermarket headers...although the 1zz (GT) seems to benifit from the hotshot and DC header...

thanks for the info, just wondering if one is better than the other or any dyno results proving one way or the other.

what pulley kit do you have? the water pump, alt. or crank (<---bad)?
and yes you'll get some gains. dyno it. a 1zz celica GT with an AEM pulley, intake and exhaust got 129whp...with your header and resonator out...i'll guess at 133-134whp which is really good for a GT but only a dyno will tell.

the GTS is the one that does not have any good aftermarket headers...although the 1zz (GT) seems to benifit from the hotshot and DC header... the problem really has to do with how wide the collectors are. the collectors are just a little wider than optimum on otherwise stock car (or with any type of cai or shortram). with higher compression pistons and/or cams the aftermarket headers like dc, trial, and trd will work a lot better than stock. i drop my engine off tomorrow for a port job as well as higher compression pistons (among other things). i'll be installing my dc-s header and it'll be dyno'd so i'll let you guys know whats up (not on this site of course ha). -Caleb
