Anyone know the best way to take care of door dings? A girl at my school hit my door with hers since it was really windy today. Left a nice little dent and some red paint on my silver celi. Any tips?

I got tons of dings. Wouldn't want to try fixing it myself and create a bigger mess.

there should be places that do "painless dent removal" around you, which takes out dents like that niceley for relitavely cheap. my dad does that anytime he gets a ding, can't even tell it happened, paint isnt even damaged in the process. i'm gonna have that done to my celi soon...

Once you've got a ding, you're pretty much stuck with it until the area can be repainted. Probably best to wait a couple of years and then get a paint job, I dunno. The trick is to not get the ding in the first place. I'm incredibly picky about where I park my car. If I'm parking at a mall or store, I always insist on parking on the end, and leave lots of space for the car next to me. I'll park far out as necessary, and walk a lot of extra distance. Same applies at work. I'm lucky we have a big parking area at work with lots of space. Anyway, sorry to hear, I hate dings.

Nope, those don't work at all. I used it back when I had my Grand Am and it didn't even come close to popping any of my dents back. Thing thing is basically hot-glue; do you think hot glue is going to pull hard enough on metal to pop it back out? Not likely.

if you ever have a ding most affortable thing you can do is get a blowdryer and hold it close to the ding and it'll pop right out...

I managed to buff out all the red that was on there. The local toyota garage has a guy come around every tuesday and thursday that manipulates dents and they said fixing it will be no problem

Ok, so I've managed to go 3 years without a SINGLE ding. And it's not because I don't drive my car. Quite the opposite. 21,000 miles per year. After three years, that changed in a single afternoon. Here I am working in the garage on the car, something falls off the wall and clips the driver's front fender. Left about a two inch "ding" in the fender and a little bit of white paint. I took care of the paint, but the damn ding is still there. I'm thinking of removing the fender liner and taking a small rock hammer and reverse it out. I get my exercise from walking to and from my car. I'm the car that's the furthest from any entrance to a certain place.
