Off duty? WTF??

Either -

1) he didn't like your look
2) you were going really really fast
3) he's just an asshole

after the cop got done telling me how many people didnt die because of how i wasnt driving recklessly, how i wasnt going over 105, and how he called a uniformed trooper to write me a ticket with his name not on it, the ticket was for 95. its not the first time ive gotten screwed like this. i got pulled over doing 15 under the speedlimit and got a 10 over speeding ticket lol

Why would an off-duty cop want to do work? I know when I'm not working, all I want to do is sit on my ass.

if he was off duty i would say it's 100% winable. When an officer is off-duty and not in uniform, he is a REGULAR citizen. In court, if you fight it and mention that he was off duty when he gave you the ticket, he has nothing to say. Basically, when he's off duty, he has NO restrictions at all. He does not have to respond to dispatch, or follow protocol. I'm sur eyoull win.

ex-cop here, quit because of the politices.

1. An Officer is swarned to uphold and enforce the law 24-7

2. If an officer (in arkansas) is radar qualified than he is authorized to issue a ticker via eye sight only. I had to accuratly evaluate the speed of oncoming (within 5 MPH) vehicals before I could even touch a radar!

BTW I NEVER wrote a speeding ticket. We could only use them for prob cause for a traffic stop. Some guys wrote them, but I NEVER did!!

If you have no other tickets on your record, you can get on probation, they will have you pay a fine, and after six months, if you get no other tickets, it gets dropped.

If the ticket cannot be droped, take a defencive driving school, then your insurance company will call it even!

Good Luck!
