I've been dying to get a DVD Nav system for the longest time now...
Ever since I saw this image:
...many years ago on Celica.net, I've been dying to get a DVD nav system for the Celica as it'd look sweet.
...I've seen many good looking ones, some cheesy, and some that look totally stock.
Is anybody fimilar with the newest Eclipse navigation system, the model AVN-5495 & AVN-5435?
http://www.eclipse-web.com/ <-- Only has the 5435, but the one I started drooling about was the 5495 model with a 30gig HDD among other features.
A few questions for those who have any Eclipse model...
> Is it good quality, especially compared to other brands [Pioneer]?
> It's a little pricey... do you get what you pay for?
> Can you play DVD movies while driving, or do you got to ground the wire so you can bypass the "safety" of not playing while driving?
> Does it look good in the Celica (or whatever car you may have it in)?
> For the latest & greatest model, the
AVN-5495, you know how much the MSRP price is & how much you could probably snag it for on the 'net (if/when it's available)?
I really want to get one, but I'm curious as to how others feel about it from their own experience vs. other models. I want to have it installed in the spot where the storage compartment is above the stock radio & have it custom molded so it looks stock.
