Spent last night cursing the glue gun that broke when I was half way done gluing the lip onto the bumper, and got high off the fumes coming from the primer and chemicals used to clean the bumper.
Anyways - the vizage front lip is mounted, and I'm all happy about how it looks. Made a new grill aswell. The grill in the "mouth" of the bumper comes standard on celica's around here.
If the weather holds up, work on actually putting the car together will start this coming week. Can't wait to get everything mounted, lower it, and put on the 19's! ROD MILLEN said they'll probably be shipping the wing this coming week also (sweeeet).
lol hot glue???? i woudl ahve used double sided tape. but god damn that thing looks amazing!!!
exactly...i was like glue???
did you screw the 2 screws on each side?
I've screwed in place the 2 screws on each side, and I mounted the "S" shaped brackets that sits between the lower front of the lip, down to the factory bumper. The glue that's beeing used is the same that's used for fastening windows on your car. In other words: that lip won't ever fall off
I've justed drilled some holes, and cleaned the rear bumper right now. Got the glue (new type) lying on a heater just to make it more flexible and soft before I go ahead and glue the rear skirts onto the rear bumper. That's my saturday night
Looks good. I want to see it when its on the car now
It's going to take a while. Headliner is taken down, the whole rear interior is taken out, windows removed, door sides removed, doorhandles, mirrors, bumpers, hood needs to be removed and replaced with the seibon invader carbon fiber hood, springs need mounting, 19" wheels needs to go on...bah. A lot of booring ass work. But if the weather can hold up, everything (except the wing) should be on the car within 2 weeks (I hope!). And then...more pictures!
Wait a second, Ive been reading things about front bumper lips and what not. Whats with this thing about glue and double sided tape? I thought you bolt it, or mold it on?? (as you can tell, im new to it)

There are a number of way to mount lip kits. Some kits bolt on using OEM bolts/mounting points. Some have double sided tape on them. Some come with brackets. Some are made to be glued on. Etc etc. Depends on the manufacturer.
It's largely up to you how you mount a kit. The vizage kit comes with double sided tape, some brackets, and screws. But seeing as I don't want it to fall off, or start slipping, I'm using the screws, brackets, tape, AND I'm gluing it on. Its an impractical sollution if you're ever planning on changing kit while you own the car as it will be a pain in the a-hole to get off again. But, if you're like me, and know that its going to be the only kit you're going to have while you own it, then why not?
How much did you pay for the front lip? Where did you buy the lip from?
I found a shop in norway that had it in stock. They had marked it down from 2060 dollars, down to 1570 dollars. I tried to order it from the US (seeing as 1570 dollars is WAY overpriced) but got fed up in the end with all the problems I got with trying to get someone to ship it over. So I said fuck it, and bought the overpriced S.O.B.
That's for the whole kit ofcourse. Don't know how much the front lip is. Check out www.vizages.com [vizages.com] for pricing, and dealers.
Makes sense, yeh same here to, Ill be a bit insecure about using just glue or doublesided tape. Would double sided tape last and hold? Wouldnt that fall off eventually?
