Has anyone successfully installed and run TRD pistons, would it be possible on 93 octane gas? I have the doubt because a lot of people say that it is hard to get 200 hp n/a, but the dyno that TRD has on their site is approx. 200hp @ 8300 rpm and 145 lbs. of torque @6800 rpm if you convert it, and degrade it to the US version of the celica. That is with the trd 13:1 compression pistons and rings, trd header, trd air filter, and trd exhaust. Add the pfc, cams, valves and springs, and pnp and it might just yield 230-250 hp. ;) What do you guys think? is it doable, or just a dream?

with raised compression and everything I think it's doable. I don't think you're gonna see 230-240 though.

especially since cams arent available yet.

All on 93 octane? I don't think that'd work with 13:1 compression.

Oh, and another thing with that setup, is that it gives you over 130 lbs. of torque at 4400 rpm (nice low end torque) thats nice. thumbsup

Yeah, but with such a high compression ratio, you'd porbably need 100 octane.

Is this for a 91 or a 7th gen. and what trd pistons are you talking about? I havent heard of mass produced trd pistons.

They weren't. They were on a show TRD car. The idea never took off.

You mean each one. Do you have the site for the dyno you are talking about?

you always can get the 3zz conversion from trial to bump up the compression and power.
