Oil consumption, the rings stick in their grooves & you burn oil. Then you run dry & your motor is toast. This happened to me at about 150,000 miles. Other than that, its been cool. thumbsup

Final drive bearings went out at about 28,000 miles and got a new tranny but other than that no problems.

I might be having tensioner problems...or it could be a bad pulley...otherwise i'm almost at 60K with no problems.

I think Toyota's hold up really well as long as you take care of them. Sadly, there will always be some bad ones in the batch, my mom had to have a car taken back under the lemon law. It was one of 1500 made so it took forever for them to get a replacement, but then it ran great for over ten years and survived us kids grin.

I had a 94 celica (I know not the same, but for example ok? grin) I took such good care of it that everybody thought it must have been a 99 and that I'd had the engine replaced and the car repainted. When they found out how old it was and that it was still original they'd shit and ask for proof rofl Just some good old fashioned obssesive compulsive care rofl
