I have seen in Sport Compact Mag where a guy transplanted a V6 Solara Engine in the 92 MR2 and added the TRD Supercharger. This car was awsome. I would think if this swap was possible you could do this to the celica as well. The article gave little insight as to the actual mods other than saying some minor mods to the motor mounting assemblies. Anyone got any ideas?

Well you can also swap a toyota 4 runner engine in a celica but you would also have to remove some parts under the hood like A/C window washer fluid...etc... but it would cost a but of money... You don't always have to have money to do what you want to your car...You can just goto you local performance auto part store after hours do a judo chop on the gaurd pause the security system and stroll out the way you came in with the parts you needed

just cause a car has a swap in a mag doesnt mean it's practical or driveable. lol show cars do crazy things cause they can, not always cause it's the best thing to do

I personally have wondered what it would be like to drop a Supra staight six and tranny into a Celica. Personally if I had the money and time I would try. The whole making space for it and converting the car to rear wheel drive would be tricky. But you would have the rediculous power of a Supra on the much lighter body of the Celica. Its just a thought and I most likely will never do it. But I like to dream.

it wouldn't be practical in any way shape or form.
1) the underbody doesnt have the room to support a drive shaft. 2) you'd have to widen the engine bay AND cut into the firewall which means you'd have to restructure the entire front end and were the driver/passenger sits. 3) you'd pay more then the car would ever be worth. 4) it would be so outa balance you can forget turning it.

But yah, I've seen a 1.6L Honda motor that could dyno over 1000HP, so anything is possible.

I think the drag Celica you're referring to is the one with the 2.7l I4 from a 4Runner.

I'm too addicted to the lift kick. Lift is to N/A as boost is to turbo.

in a front wheel drive car is more weight in the front really bad? I'd think it'd give you more traction, those rear wheel drive guys are always trying to move the weight to the back over the drive wheels. there was a drag celica with a supra engine in it, but it wasn't really a celica, it was a fully built race chassis with a body that looked like a celica with a super extended nose to fit the engine. so it kinda looked more like a new camaro or firebird with celica lines. it's cool if you've got tons and tons of money and want to go to a show and have the only celica in the world that has say a truck engine in it or something, but not at all practical. I'd upgrade a GT motor with turbo and internals and boost it too the limits, that'd probably be your biggest HP gains. C2power.com has a car that I think is putting out 350whp. so you could probably say 400 at the crank at least.
