My buddy and i were in his 1990 civic hatch si, moving pretty good on a twisty road trying to get to fedex before they closed to ship a turbo manifold and downpipe out. well, on the last corner, the back end of the car swung around and we drove about 50yds down hit the corner of one of those things that lets water go under the roads, its like 10 ft in diameter, and flip the car upside down laying in the creek, that is like 2ft of water.
so then we are sitting upside down in his car, and we ask if each other is ok, and our seat belts are just hanging us in the car upside down, so we try to figure out how to get out (we were all disoranted, since the car was upside down) and we tried to figure out how to get out of the car, his window was 1/2 way down so we crawled out of it. Then he looked at my head, and a peice of coloctor piping he had in the back it my head we think and it was bleeding kind all over the side of my face.
so then he pulls the lever to open the hatch, i'm pulling my hardest on the hatch to get the package out. I finally got the hatch open and pull the turbo manifold package out and i looked at my watch. 8 minutes till fedex closes. him and i start sprinting to fedex, my head is bleeded, and is his fine. we get there and realize the box had mud and water and a gash in the side, so we got the tape gun and more packageing and fixed the all up and made some calls and got his dad and a tow truck out.
the tow truck guy got there, smoking a cigarette, and as soon as he saw the car about 50ft off the road down into a creek his eyes got huge. he said this was the worsted car he as ever seen, that he has had to pull out. so he called his sup and he came out about 30 minutes later. it took them about 2 hours to get the car out, and we towed it back to his out.
quite an evening i must say, but we DID get the package shipped before they closed!
here are 6 pics of the car. we were upside down in a ditch when it had happened.

Glad everyone's OK...I must say - this would have made a great FedEx commercial!! WORD DAMN!!! How much did you sell the turbo for? Cause I hope it was worth it. I hope the person that is getting the turbo really gives you guys an AWESOME feedback for still rushing to FedEx after you flipped your car and not to mention bleeding from your head. What did the FedEx people say/act when they saw you all bloody?

he made me stay outside, because i had blood all over me. he shipped a package yesterday and told the fedex people the whole story and they said it made an awesome smoke break for them. heh, after we walked up the hill with the package, we looked down at the car, looked at each other and said "wow, that was awesome!" hes got it on logs because the front just like lays on the ground. he is going to take his coilovers off, and try to get the motor out then take it to a junk yard. we thought the same thing about the fedex commercial, we wished we had a camera inside the car. it litteraly felt like a roller coaster. this one guy stopped after the tow trucks got there, and couldnt stop saying ooh shit, oohh shit, ooh god, oooh damn, wow...oh man. i cant beleive you guys are alive. remember, friends dont let friends drive civic's!

Glad you are alright. I would suggest to your friend to take a driving school class where they teach car control. Worth more than any similar price mod for both safety and speed. Plus for him to loose the back end of a Civic is mad, he clearly has no car skills. I have owned one and the only way it would do anything other than understeer was if I braked too late in to a corner which happens with all cars.
Important thing is at the end of the day is that you walked away.
