I had a few friends told me take it takes 300 miles to break in the engine of a car. is this true? i'm pretty sure it takes around 1500 miles to actually rev it pretty hard.

Different for every car. I was told for my M3 1200 miles, a Ford 500 miles and a race engine 1000 miles. Do a 1200 and change the oil and it will be fine. One of the main reasons is for the engine to bed in but also the oil needs changing because it will be full of crap.

Yeah you wanna take it easy on the engine. Dont go above 60 mph (as hard as it is) and keep varying your speed so you dont stay at one speed for a long time. Then get your oil changed at around 1000-1500 miles and then let all hell break lose.

on new and overhauled aircraft engines it is 100 hours. Our engines are made with stricter tolerances. I would think it would be half, more like 50 hours, so at 35 MPH as an average speed thats, 1750 MI, yea 1500 miles is right!
