Celica Forums General Discussion Engine and Performance Japanese counterpart ECU work on 2002 GTS?

My engine is stock, what do you guys think? Will it plug in and run code free? I asume they come off the same assenbly line! I looking to buy a 2000 ECU, why won't it work?? (Shipping won't be too bad)

u prolly then will have to get that japanese ac control, no fair

to do the 2000 ecu swap you will also need to change to the 2000 knock sensor. check the "other" celica site for a great writeup on how to do the swap.

or you can bypass all of that and get the power fc. that's a direct plug and play. (after you get it tuned)
