how would a sound system sound with using the stock deck in a GT? I have a sub and an amp on the way, and i want to install it once the amp gets here. The deck i want is 300 and i am going to have to save up a while for it, so how would it sound while using the stock deck?

IMO I dont think it will sound anything close to as good as an aftermarket. But what can ya do... I would get the new deck ASAP. BTW which deck are you thinking of getting?

you're going to want to use a high level out-put converter if you're using your system off a stock deck

When you convert post-amp to preamp to run to your amp, you get a lot of voltage fluctuations. I could damage your amp, or clipping could destroy your subs. Get an aftermarket deck.

You can run a converter off of your factory stereo speaker level input(converts speaker out wires to RCA) to your amp with no problem. MOST factory units sound fine, and if you have the "premium" sound package all it is missing is a little bass. It won't win you any car shows but sounds great in the car. I have a GTS with an Infinity Basslink. Crystal clear highs and smooth tight bass. If you want it to thump down the block get another set up...

Your best bet is to just wait and get an aftermarket deck. You wont be disappointed but make sure you get a deck with subwoofer controlles or else you will regret it.
