I gotten my e-mail back that I sent to EIPTuning, and they said that the VVTL-I engine can produce 400hp with there Turbo, and for 5 grand for the Turbo kit, I dunno how much tho, but you'd have to have ur car shipped there, I believe they're located on the east cost Westminster MD, SO Celica GTS onwers that live in that area or near there, take ur car there and see what happens with that turbo kit on your car, but I dunno if the tranny can handle that much prower and tourqe but I wrote a E-mail to ask them if the tranny can handle it and what can we do to get it to handle that much power, and I havent gotten a reponse back, you all can check out there site if you dont have it, its http://www.eiptuning.com, and there e-mail addy is eiptuning@adelphia.net, Good luck to all who tries this, cause I'm going to try it myself.

"For only 5 grand!!"? Come on now, 5 grand is a LOT of money. Granted it's cheaper than any other mod that can produce that amount of power, but it's still hard to justify saying "only 5 grand"! Maybe if I win the lottery or get a unexpected $5.00 an hour raise or something... which brings up a whole new topic...would anyone be offended by a poll asking what you all do for a living?? Just a thought to get to know each other a little better. By the way, I'm a Steelworker, I rebuild HUGE machines that are in the steelmills all over the U.S. Bluecollar But at least I'm happy for now

Yeah 5G's thats pretty damn ! Out of my price range... I get paid pretty well, Im a loan officer at a community bank... my problem is im not too good with money. Isnt that ironic! 5k is a bit much rite now. i would think having that much power would only bring many more problems anyway.
Ask yourself one question. Is the juice worth the squeeze?

Also does that include any internals? I could see you needing to completly build up the motor to handle this much power. But for 5 grand I would sell my body to some really hot girls...Oh, never mind I only need 3.5 g's cause I "only" have a gt.

actually, sorry to burst all your bubbles, but the eip tuning kit offers three stages.
There stage I is just turbo, and its the five thousand dollar one
There stage two includes and intercooler setup and its around eight thousand.
The stage three is the full setup. It has fully rebuilt block, standalone, all new fuel system, the works. But invovles you to send your car to them. but this kit costs well over 10000.
So all of you looking to get 400hp for 5g's is definately not gonna happen.

Our stage 3 system includes a motor build. You must purchase our stage 2 turbo system then upgrade to the stage 3.The pricing for stage 2 is $5595.00, stage 3 upgrade is $2995.00. Our stage 3 system is capable of making 400hp.Check out the systems on our website in the projects area. >Thanks >EIP Tuning

Add those two numbers and you $8590, which is pretty close to 10g. If you have the money go for it and let us know how it goes. I've heard very bad things about EIP though look at this thread for details-http://www.newcelica.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=83565&highlight=eip

plus if you dont live near by them, and dont wanna drive really far, you have to ship your car there which would run around $1,000 for there and back. And i wont say i was right, but...

I dunno man, if you strap a turbo to the GTS that is putting out enough boost to make 400+ HP, I don't think the motor would last too long, not stock anyways. The compression is too high, boost levels would have to be conservative. That setup would be their stage 3 setup, the engine work is required to lower the compression & beef up the internals. I wouldn't run much boost on a stock 2ZZ, you get a big kaboom! The intercooler would help, you could run a boost level a little bit higher when intercooled, but for the 2ZZ to make power, you'd need dished pistons like the 1ZZ has (there are nice aftermarket 1ZZ pistons for this purpose, they will fit the 2ZZ block when used with 2ZZ rods) Valvetrain would need to be beefed up a bit, forged main caps too. BTW, the tranny will be okay, so long as you add a racing clutch & flywheel, and upgrade the CV axles to stronger aftermarket units. (Try http://www.islandmotorsports.com, they distribute Enjo cv axles that can handle that kind of power, You would need stage III axles, they're race-duty rated at 275 HP and up)

There must be an easier way to get reasonably high hp. What if you settle for just stage 2? What kind of hp would you expect from that?

i called them about 3 months ago. they said the celica project was 13000 dollars in parts in labor. they wanted 799/pistons 799/rods 999/piston sleeves they reran fuel lines upgraded fuelpump.. just about everything thing you could do to a car and the car they built is only running 322hp at the wheels @ 14 lbs of boost and only 276 at 9lbs. thats a lot of money for just 322hp. just my 2 cents worth

You can't just think in terms of numbers, remember we have a very light car. Some 2500 lbs. Think about the power to weight ratio if: XS turbo: 2500 lbs / 250 whp = 10:1 ratio EIP tuning(info extracted from below: 2500 lbs / 322 whp = 7.76:1 ratio Stock HP: 2500 lbs / 160 whp = 15:1 ratio Hopefully I did those calculations right. They aren't exact numbers but they should be close enough. Even with the stock lb to hp ratio is good. 322 whp will murder your rival and your tires i called them about 3 months ago. they said the celica project was 13000 dollars in parts in labor. they wanted 799/pistons 799/rods 999/piston sleeves they reran fuel lines upgraded fuelpump.. just about everything thing you could do to a car and the car they built is only running 322hp at the wheels @ 14 lbs of boost and only 276 at 9lbs. thats a lot of money for just 322hp. just my 2 cents worth

You'd have to change a lot more than the transmission to put 400hp in a car built for 180. Like a clutch and maybe breaks.
