ok im getting a DA turbo grin grin smile and its direct bolt on. so i got the 3 options and like, is it hard to install myself? like can i do it. i kno that the headers are a bitch to get off, but is anything else? is there an install, lol. I also know i need to get some gauges, im thinking boost, exhaust temp, and oil temp. are those hard to install. im really trying to avoid taking it to a shop and having to pay a bitch for it. lol. IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I NEED TO GET? confused? confused? confused? i want to make sure lol smile.

If I were you a turbo is a pretty important piece to half ass and attempt to do it yourself if you dont have the knowledge to do it yourself. But I dont know you could be a natural mechanic. If you want to attempt to put it on yourself I'd recomend talking to some people in here who have done it themselves and try searching it in a search engine. But I Highly recomend that you have it put in by your local sports tuner or mechanic.

cool so that's a brand new kit and doesn't seem to be very expencive let me know how it works out.. the biggest thing on turbos that seems to happen a lot on our cars is the fittings inbetween the turbo outlet pipes that contain the boost, you gotta make sure that crap it really right and strong otherwise it could blow out, not a huge deal, but scarry sound on highway and if you drive around with it blown out you wont have turbo boost power and you won't have filtration so you'll probably get more dust and dirt in your engine. it comes with an oil pan with welded on bung for the oil return line, that's sweet cause then you don't even need to tap it, taps are cheap though and not very difficult, and with this kit you'd have to take off the whole oil pan and replace it so dunno. it should be pretty straight forward as long as it's all bolt on and you don't need to do any mods, just gotta make sure it's all tuned right, don't want to have the wrong setting on the waste gate boost controller and blow your engine when you hit 20lbs of boost at 8k or something. and do you know what kind of fuel management they're useing emanage or powerfc?

I'm suprised no one has climbed all over this thread yet. Let me help you out. For starters that kit comes with everything you need as far as fuel management. They use the split sec piggy back just like stafford does. As far as what else you will need the only other thing that hasnt been mentioned is a clutch. As far as rates for tuning, depends on the shop, theres not too many shops in San Diego that have dynos or id feel comfortable letting my car be tuned at. The going rate in San Diego seems to be $150/hr. In Socal, plan to pay at least $100/hr if not more. Now the bad news, you basically cant get a DA kit, unless you are buying one used off someone. DA is still trying to fill the original orders from 2 years ago. After he fills the original orders who knows if hes even gonna keep selling the kits, even if he does you wouldnt get your kit for ages.

You need professional help for a turbo, too many variables, IE: High flo fuel pump, boost, cooling...I would'nt do it without some specific knowledge of it. thumbsup

^^Yup. That sucks about the tuning rates in Cali. The shops that I've seen around me are 80-100/hour.

I didn't even realize DA Sports was still doing their kit. Last time I heard, there were more people waiting for their kits than there were people that had the kit. Or am I wrong?

You don't. When it comes time to get your car smogged, you have two options.
1) Take the turbo off and smog it.
2) Pay someone off under the table to pass you.
