Polykarb, this is OLD news. Unlike the Celica which is made in Japan, the Matrix & Pontiac Vibe are made in the U.S. at the exact same factory. They've been doing that since like late 2002! Its just one of those partnership projects they took on, similar to like the Mitsubishi Eclipse & Eagle Talons.

Think about the positives, the more that engine is in different models, the more chances we'll see more performance parts for it, even in a pontiac body.

If an American company could do the math and develop a comparable engine, they would. Obviously they can't! They are too lazy! hit

It has been a fact since the 70's, if you want a quality car, buy Japanese! Looks like the big three can't fight them so they are joining them. Buy Toyota stock RIGHT NOW if you haven't. From the quality cars to the new "Old Navy" marketing, they are bringing the big three to their knees, for neglecting the U.S. by being fat, dumb, and lazy!

If GM does manufacture a car with this engine, I look at it as a plus; there will be a lot of crappy cars with very nice engines in the salvage yards very soon!
