Hey guys, i purchased a 2000 GTS about a month ago. I was reading some of these forums and saw that my car is supposed to have a rev limit of 8400...and lift at 6500. My car seems to rev out at 7000...is there some kind of problem here...also i noticed that people have said that it can be caused by the previous owner not using premium gas. Please can someone tell me if theres a problem with the engine or if this can be fixed, if so how?

thnx guys

Only one way to find out, run it all the way to 8400. When it cuts out you know you have reached the rev limiter.

When I find myself in a position like this, I ask myself what would General Motors do? And then I do the opposite!

maybe it's just not warmed up enough. My temp gauge has to be up to the middle mark before i can hit fuel cutoff.

I am having the exact same problem. Next week I am replacing the speed sensor because it is not working all the time anymore. I am also doing the lift bolts so I will keep you posted. BTW does your speedometer work? And is your check engine light on?
