18x9 will rub on the rear fender... and yeah, the wheels are gonna be expensive...$300/wheel.
IMO having a wider wheel on a FWD is GAY, but whatever makes you happy.

the rear fender is wider...i think it looks gay if the wheel isnt filling the fenders...regardless more rubber anywhere will make the car handle better
i figured it would rub, and that I would have to have a different offset wheel made or something...maybe I'll stick with 18 x 8 all the way around

Awesome rim! 8x18 and 9x18 with a 30 offset should work just fine. You'll have to do minor arch work on your rear arches (roll the lip of the arch, or cut it off) but that's about it. Atleast that's what I'm guessing from having 8,5 inch wide wheels with a 30 offset myself.
You can see it in this picture, that my rims could have been further out without problems. I think a perfect offset for 8,5 inch wide rims would be 25 up front and 20 on the rear wheels.

when I went to see if I could get the wheels, the guy told me I would need something like a 33 offset to make it work. What sucks is the biggest width that wheel has is 7.5 so, I'm not going to be able to do that with that wheel unless I approach Nakayama and see if they'll do custom job, which would cost an assload of money. So, I may just go for the 7.5 all around. I love those wheels, they're hot, so we'll see.
