ok, if you dont want to mod the doors you'll need an adapter kit to convert your akward stock speaker holes to oem ones - oem meaning the standard for afternarket mounts ( kind of contradictory i know. ) then get a set of speakers 6 1/2 inches - alpine SXE-1725S is a good place to start. these have a very easy to fit holes in them so you might not need adaptoores to fit them. you dont have to use crossovers and tweeters if you only want a simple setup which is what i presume you want. there are way more complicated setups out there. use the search button. as for links use google. i dont mean that in a mean way ... links to fit are here : https://celicahobby.com/ubbthreads/thread.f_113576_0_collapsed_2__1.html

clos i put a infinity component set in my 2000 gts but i didnt use the cross over it came with since the celica has built in cross overs. to do the woofer its (6 1/2) just take the door panel off unscrew the 4 bolts for the mid. just let it hang there. now grab the woofer and pull, its held in with an adhesive no screws. the wires are soddered to the speaker so you will have to cut them. take the new woofer and a) sodder the wires to it; or b) put female dissconnectors on it and hook it up. start car to make sure speaker works. if speaker works your in good shape. no here is the tricky part and it might help to have a second person. i used black silicone and put it all around the speaker and stuck it onto the factory mount. it takes about an hour to skin and dry and since you dont want to hold it there that long have a friend place the mid back on and screw the four bolts back ontop of the woofer. no that the mid is screwed back in it will secure the woofer to let it dry. that part is all done. for the tweeters you should be able to just swap. i havent done that yet since i feel the tweeters on there are fine. if you have any questions pm me or ask on the thread id be more then happy to help.

unless your taking it to competitions there is really no need to spend all that on speakers. trust me infinity speakers will do the job. they sound clear as hell. they can get loud. infact they are designed to have a amp hooked up to them. buy what you want, its your money, but if you wont something affordable that will more then do the job infinity is the way to go.

I am not a fan of the infinity kappa perfects. I would suggest either JL xr's or boston, for named brands. and my personal favorites are CDT audio, but those would require a little more work to install. They use an oversized 6.5 mid/sub and the adapter kits made wont work, so you have to make your own adapter.

Yea dont bs around.. and spend a lil money on speakers.. Just go on and spend the money and get either JL or Boston.. Probably by far 2 of the best companys out there... The way i look at it, is if you can buy the speakers at bestbuy or circuit city i wouldnt bother getting them.

it looks to me like he is still using a stock HU and no amp hook up for the components anyway, so it seems silly to me to buy top line stuff when you dont need it and cant use it to its full potential. and anyone who thinks infinity is shit hasnt listen to them. as for the best buy comment thats go to be the dumbest fucking thing i have ever heard. just because the equipment they sell might not be good for competitions doesnt mean its crap.
