as i said before i am new to the celica and i have and automatic. but it has this thing called mode where it switches to manual and i have buttons on my wheel to make it shift. if i dont shift it up it wont gain speed. i know its not a true manual but would i still be able to get close to the same amount of speed on my car as a manual if i did all the things you guys do to your manual cars. i really looking for looks and speed. i know i am prolly dreamin since im still in highschool but i was looking through your guys cars and they look great! id like to have my car look like that someday. i was just wondering if i should use premium gas in my gts because i was reading and i saw someone talk about gas and using premium in the gts. i didnt know if that was only for manual or anything. dont know much about cars so ill be asking a lot of questions...thanks for your help.

QUESTIONS: TIPTRONIC SHIFTING, WILL IT EVER BE AS FAST AS A MANUAL?
ANSWER: Anything can be fast with enough money thrown into it. but stock gts auto vs stock 6spd gts you will still lose

QUESTION: DO I NEED TO USE PREMIUM GAS FOR A GTS?
ANSWER: Yes, if you dont youll knock and the performance aspect of the car will run like shit. and more then likely youll screw the motor up.

^^Yeah, reason being is that when you tell the car to shift, the computer analyses the revs and makes sure that it'll be safe, whereas if you let it shift, it already knows that it will be safe.

Electronically shifting an automtic transmission does not make it a manual. Two totally different things. Indy cars are automatic & use electronic shifting, aren't they fast? grin
