Today when I went to drive somewhere I turned on my lights and my gauges flickered a couple of times and then went dead. I couldn't get them to come on at all. So I took my gauge cluster out and inspected the problem. I saw that where the wires come into the gauge overlay it looked a little burnt. I'll post pics of what happaned.
Has anyone else had this problem?
I connected them to the cigarette lighter... has anyone else had a problem connecting to this???
Thanks

i had a similar problem with my cold cathode behind ac knob. i had it connected to a fuse tap goign to tailights. and the inverter just melted. The lights flickered and i smelled the burning plastic but i have all of my other neons hooked to cig lighter. sometimes its jsut a bad inverter

Pate- you changed your LEDs on a 2005? How hard was it? As for your reverse glow gauges, did you have it fused somewhere between the gauges and your power source?

Thanks for the info hombre. I just ordered a new gauge face today. AC2386: Yeah I changed the LEDs and it's a 2005. It wasn't too hard (for me). If you have had any experience with sautering stuff then it's not too hard. There's an article in the install section on how to do it. I had the gauges connected to the cigarette lighter light. So it would come on when the lights were turned on. I figured there's no need to put in a fuse.

ooh. i thought you ment you had it on the back of the cig lighter, didnt know you ment to the cig lighter bulb. i would suggest a fuse tap to another fuse, liek tailights. tht way you have a fuse for the tails and a fuse for the gauges. but it coudl jsut be a bad inverter.
