help. my windshield just cracked straight down the middle and i need some advice on prices. i called toyota and tehy said the windshield is tempured and laminated, but they are charging me about 700.00 including labor, but this other place i found is only charging me like 300.00 but they are saying windshields are not tempured but are only laminated.. n e know? pls help

I quoted mine to get replaced at 347.00... they didnt say much about being tempured and they have a very nice system.. id trust them to do it for 300

U can call Toyota and tell whoever you talked to, to go back to school windows are either tempured OR laminated. They r two totally different things. Tempured is glass that is heat treated and laminated is a price of glass between two plastic like prices so when in a wreck the window does not shatter. Windsheilds are usually about 300 from shops but if you go to dealers they will basically take ur arm and ur leg. They wanted to charge me 800$ for a used ecm when i found one for 95 with a warrenty. The guy I bought the my baby from had the wrong ecm in there for some reason! O.o
