Ok after reading what people have done to there cars and all about turboed celica's. I have a big decision, I can either get an RSX-S or a Celica GTS and then Turbo it. I have 16000K right now and the Celica is at 10750. The RSX-S is at 16777. I can either go fast but not riable or go for just decent street car.

If I get the celica I would be turboing it and boosting at 6-8PSI on stock internals. If I get the RSX-S that would be all my funds so I won't be added anything big except for I/H/E maybe Hondata.

I know this is a celica forum but lets not get bias about this. What car would you choose if you had a choice?

Honestly, I'd go Rsx-s. It's a pretty good base and a nice project to start thumbsup

Well If I get the RSX-S its not going to be a project because I won't be putting major mods like a turbo etc. on it. Becuase The RSX-S is going to take all of my money. I'm also leaning towards the RSX-S because i hear Celicas 2zz motors have had a lot of problems like spun bearings etc. Is this true?

How is the GTS not reliable...as far as i know Toyota and Honda both are reliable. I always hear of parts breaking in the RSX...such as headers and shiet like that...soooo i would say Celica thumbsup. I was considering the RSX too until i began to see problems with my friends and their RSX's thumbsdown

there's gonna be comparison between a TURBO'd gts and an rsx. it all depends on what you want man. the turbo gts would roast the rsx even with hondata and i/h/e. boost plus vvtl-i means lot and lots of power. but if all you want is a good street car, go with the rsx. it's all up to you in what you want!

A GTS is reliable for sure, but the reliability of a turboed car isn't the same as a stock car. I'd go RSX-s and add those easy mods I/H/E, everything bolt-on. It obviously won't be as fast as a turbo gts but I believe you will be able to keep the car more than 2 years...

i say gts but don't go with a turbo. you can get plenty of small performance mods like intake, exhaust, pfc, trial header, etc. with the money left over you get buy a body kit, rims, audio/video system, etc. that's what i would do.

rsx-s.. there's tons of aftermarket parts for it, therefore the mods/parts would be easier & cheaper to get.

hmm but then in the long run probably everyone would have an rsx & it probably could become the top 10 stolen cars like the integra...

Is the GTS a 6-speed? If not, then Type-S.

Yes the GTS is a six speed. I really want to get the GTS and turbo it, but I don't have the motor to blow after a year or 2. If I really know how to maintain the motor then I guess I would go with the GTS. Because I can get a turbo and get some exterior mods.

Such a hard decision, i want a nice street car that can be able to run at least low 14's, but I also want a turbo because I love the BOV and the look on peoples faces. Plus I get the bragging rights. Am i just too much of a show off? because I really want that GTS then turbo it and do it right.

you won't blow your motor...just don't be stingy on maintinence and boost conservatively (6-8psi) and you'll be fine.

Ok thats final GTS it is. I won't be boosting so high as 8PSI, well maybe on the weekend races. But just on daily driving I will probably be at 5PSI. I take care of all my cars very well far.

I was worried that The motor be get fucked and my mom is going to really spaz at me because this is going to be my 4th car and i'm only 18.

The thing about turbo'ing a car, is you need another one as a daily driver. It WILL leave you on the side of the road & cost you a lot in gas. IMO, if your gonna spend the money on a turbo, for god sakes do it on something with more than 1.8L!!! Its a waste.

Get the RSX. thumbsup

Or, you may think about getting a GT. You can turbo it with less worry, and save yourself some money while you're at it.

The cheapest GT in my area is the same value as the GTS i'm planning on buying. So it would all be the same. I have thought about that choice also. I also am very picky, I want leather sunroof and all the option just to have some luxury.
