Would it be possible to put a turbo from a manual Evo into my automatic 2001 Celica GT? I don't really know much about this stuff but I was offered a great deal on one. Would it fit? Is it easy?

Unless its a really generic turbo kit I would imagine you may have difficulty fitting it properly. If it does install properly keep in mind you will have to re-tune your entire car to run with the new boost. If its a very large turbo at all your also looking at replacing internal parts to handle the new pressure being forced in.

Your also probably going to have more routine maintenance to ensure everything is still working properly. The turbo will put additional stresses on the engine it wasn't originally designed to handle, higher heat, higher pressures, etc. Your fuel efficiency may suffer if you choose to up your fuel ratio as well, turbo = more air flow which is normally countered with more fuel. Bigger boom, more go.

If you do decide to get it make sure you understand and can also get all of the additional needs it requires. As always I recommend getting things built for your car however. It may cost more to get proper parts, but they pay off in the long run.
