The harness has extra wires for a couple things. I believe one of the blue ones is the remote switch for an amp. When I installed my head unit I had several wires left over. The harnesses are probably made for more than just the Celica. Probably for any similar Toyota with Toyota's "premium" sound.

Is that the same harness you're using? I assume your Celica has the "premium" 8 speaker sound system right? What I understand you're trying to say is that the coaxial cable are not plugging into anything. I believe they're supposed to go to your head unit, not to your speakers. The wire harness runs the audio signal to the stock amp, then to the speakers. So I believe you just have to hook up whichever coax cable is left and right speakers to the head's left and right output. This [ amazon.com] is the harness I used.

I have the exact same harness you have, would you mind taking a picture of the wire hookup you have in the back of your head unit? I feel like i'm close but i just can't get it. I would be really appreciative.

I have the same year car and I'm having the same problem with the same harness. It turns on completely but plays no sound. Do I have to do something to the factory amp? I would really appreciate it if someone could explain to me what to do! Thanks!
