I have been a proud owner of an 02 Celica GT Auto for about a year now. Its been apparent for sometime that I need more power. Because the body on the car is so clean id hate to sale her. That is what pushed me to my next thought. A gts swap or a gt transmission swap. So i was wonder what you guys would do? Or whether or not my thoughts are even possible.

Thanks..

Going from auto to manual can be a pain in the arse with having to run the cabling and install the clutch pedal, switch out the shifter, etc etc. The engine swap can easily be done though if you stay with the same tranny setup. I would suggest checking out Monkeywrench Racing's website, they have a section just for the 2ZZ swap. I hope this helps you.

It is possible. I myself, am considering turbo in the future and I hear that it is better to have the 1zz engine because of the lower compression. I also hear a manual gt stock can beat an auto gts stock so personally I would go the tranny swap.

I was also wondering about a gts trans into a gt. I have an 02 gt manual but the rpms and loudness at 65 - 70 are horrendous. Has there been a write up? The only things i can think of that i would need would be a doner trans and axles right? Everything should bolt right up sensors included?
