Celica Forums General Discussion Engine and Performance HELP!!! rough idle!!

i have a 2000 celica gt and just recently i replaced the maf sensor and lately when i cold start it it misfires bad and wants to stall out, but as soon as i give it a little gas everything runs as normal. once the vehicle warms up a little it idles fine too. no power loss no nothin. im just stumped at what this problem could be? anything at all would be appreciated! thank you!

Maybe the throttle body needs cleaning now. Have a good read about this Two guides

And I've just did this. So amaze with the outcome, runs smooth and responsive in every Gear.

2nd Guide is a bit more aggressive so out of my league for now but I'm glad I didn't do this as there's an issue that if You miss will surely damage that bearing inside the IACV. Please read including the comments and You will see why. Here the 2nd guide.

Check that airbox is tightly sealed. Even hole in back where nylon hose holder breaks off affects cfm and these are very sensitive. Make sure parts store sold correct maf sensor and check.for shorts in wires to it,bad connector, check/clean aic valve,air filter,run out your gas and run chevron with lucas inj cleaner,clean throttle body,check.plugs and all.other hoses and wires. Dont run octane booster, that stuff burns up sparkplugs and leaves them blood red. All I can think.off short of taking to a toyota dealer$hip.good luck
