Celica Forums General Discussion General My first car! Please read, and help me decide on what to do.

Hello everyone! I am new to this website, and I am new to the car world in general. I just turned 16 recently and got my first car, and obviously it is a Celica! A black 2002 celica GT. Unfortunately it isn't a GT-S but, this is where I am in a pickle. There are so many things to do to the car right now, lower it? Get new rims? Body kit? New paint? New engine? Turbo it? I just don't know. I am saving up money currently and my dad said he would match me if got 800 dollars, which means I would have 1600 to spend.

I wanted to know if I could get a GT-S engine swap so I can have a faster car. I was wondering how much it would cost me for this? Also, if it is even possible! I don't know anything as of now and was hoping I could get some suggestions on what to do from here.

PS. My car has 211k miles on it so it has been through a lot, and yes, it is a 5 speed, not a autotragic. So anything helps! I just need to know what the next step to fixing up my car should be!

I would suggest to save your money for a while. Get to know your car and see from there what would be the best thing to do to it.

If the shocks go out, you have the option to get new suspension. If you're tires are worn, maybe consider new rims with a set of tires. If the engine blows, you can consider a swap. As of now, I would say to just enjoy it.

You're car has a lot of miles so chances are that after driving it around for a while, it will need some work so it is smart to save you're money and when the opportunity (or mishap) occurs, you can do any mods then..
