So I been having this ticking sound I my engain ever time my car heats up so I check the clearance on my valves and some were way to loss and some were kinda tight but how do you adjust the valves in this car I never done it before but I wanna do it my self cause ot cost to much to get it done so can any one please help me out?

Please verify my info but I believe I'm accurate. The lifters are a bucket type with different thicknesses at the top. This use to be a 2 part piece called a shim and bucket with the shims being of different thicknesses. I believe this is now just a 1 piece part. The deal is that the probable cause of inaccurate valve clearance in your engine is from someone tearing it down and not keeping track of what hole each bucket came out of. Generally if valve clearances change due to wear they become tighter. To correct this you will need to follow the instructions in the manual and get a measurement of all the valves in the closed position. Compare that to spec and try and find what buckets need to be placed in the correct holes. If you have had new valves replaced you may need to purchase the appropriate bucket. Hope this helps. No Fun!
