Then at work it thundered so hard it set it off!
anyone else have this problem?

i think there was a post on how you can change the sensitivity on the stock alarm.
my car does the 3 warning beeps before setting itself off.
I've mastered the art of the After Image Technique.

Their should be an adjustment to the stock alarm. Toyota usually places the sensitivity control for the shock sensor near the driver side kick panel. Pull it off the doorsills and take off the kick panel and their should be a black box with a notch. Use a flathead screwdriver to adjust it. The quick beeps are just a warning before the actual alarm goes off.
If it's not their check the stock brain of the alarm unit itself usually located under the driver side dash it can be their as well lower the sensitivity on the brain to turn down the shock sensor..
It's pretty good if you have the sensitivity up all the way but can get annoying if it goes off all the time.
It just tells you that the alarm was about to set off or somekid threw a tennis ball at your car to make it go off. Hehe.
Example you went to the mall left it parked under the structure. Usually if the alarm triggered and set off an L.E.D indicator will blink a certain amount of times. Each blink on the L.E.D can mean a different thing. Check your manual or the forum on the stock alarm for a better description on the functionality of your alarm.

I believe the sensitivity adjustment is on the Security computer itself, which can be found by putting your head where the pedals are, and looking up.
Very akward position to be in.

It is Indeed located under that center console. If You take that off You will see a small black box then You'll be able to spot the control for adjusting the sensitivity of the alarm.

Hy friends i will bring upp the topic I have bought soon a celica 2001 and i have some questions about the alarm What are the arming mods for celica? Because after i arm the car in about few seconds the alarm starts off like someone breeched into the car but with no reason This is bad because is noisey for the neighbours or when i am in a public area i have to lock the car only by key and this is not good Thank you
