i read few threads about celicas breaking down a lot, and people want to get rid of it asap. now let me hear all of you who didnt have any problems with theirs and love their car
I've had mine about 10 months. Bought it brand new (2003 GT 5 speed), and now it has almost 30,000 miles. I love my car. The only problems I've had are too much attention sometimes, and my bearings went out in my tranny (warranty rebuild, now its better than new)...I love my celica
I have had mine for a year, getting ready to hit 70000 miles and have yet to have a single problem. That no problem thing may end though when the Turbo gets installed.
I had no problem with my celica...perfectly fine until 35k... Had mods and more mods were planned but heard my alarm go off at nite... went down, some body tried to break into my car I guess... I had no insurrance from day 1 so I didnt really wanna deal with that whole thing...so I sold it...
2003 GTS 6spd..had it for a little over a year with barely 17k on it..got totalled ..now trying to look for sumthin that i love just as much as my celi..no problems during the time i did have it tho!!
the only problem i had was my trani, but got a new one, waranty work, but my car was used so i dont know if i count, other than that, i FUCKING LOVE MY CELICA
^^^^it's just a stage that everyone needs to get through. they are just encountering that stage. i think most of them will pass the stage and go on. some, as you see, sold the celica~
pushing 57 thousand miles and had it since june 2004. I had to replace a couple fuses and clean the engine head up really good but other than that, it runs excellent. Couldn't find a sexier car on the road for under $20,000
i got 57,000 miles on mine...i got it used...but a month after having my celica the transmission went..also the gas door is werid it always says its open but its not...they replaced it for free though...:) all 4000$ of it...
all cars have their problems... hondas arent super reliable cars because my sister's had a couple... the cars that break down often probably wasnt broken in correctly before redlining and shit... its mostly their fault
i had a 2000 gt and it had 15k when i bought it and drove it everywhere and put 60k on it in 2 years and it never missed a beat! unfortunately some jerk hit me and totalled it, and i got a nice check for it and went and bought a 2002 gts with a trd body kit and trd exhaust! haven't had a bit of problem at all! great cars!
Other than the belt issue most of us have, no problems at all. 2003 GT with 55k on it, had a 2000 GT 120k at trade in (it was an auto, wanted 5 speed) ran like new.
just got mine a lil over 4 months ago..gonna hit 12k soon..can't go a day witout driving my celi..its great!
120K in a 95 celica and still runs like a champ. only things i needed to change where valve cover gaskets ( redlineing to long in auto x) but other then that it still runs good.
Had mine 2.5 years, got 74,000 on it, only trouble Tranny replaced at 38,000 was warranty work--factory defect on the pilot shaft the torque converter rides on. They said 1 in a million defect they replaced tranny AND converter. Other than that, smooth sailin'!
"You're not how much money you have in the bank. You're not the car you drive. You're not the contents of your wallet. You're not your f------ khakis. You're the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world."
had mine for almost two years now with 43K miles. took her to hell and back, rode her like a whore, etc. to this day i havent had one problem. i'm keeping her for a while.
eh man... first i got to tell you that my baby never really had a big problem either, except when its really cold outside or if its raining, she makes this really loud squeaking noise, and it seems like it coming from the timing belt, i will get it check out soon as the winter hit this year... any idea what it can be? also let me know...! other than that my celica is doing great.. another thing, is that your celica in the blue, i got to admit it to you man, my celica looks just like your, except black and its also a gts 2000. i will post my picture soon... cause i am new to ecelica...
I have had my car since 2001. I purchased brand a brand new 2001 celica GTS. I do regular maintenece and other than that I have had no problems what so ever! Still runs like new ... always dependable toyota!
Ask yourself one question. Is the juice worth the squeeze?
ive had my 5th gen since october 2003 i beleive, but im not one hundred percent sure...lol...and i have never had any problem, except that the back brakes had to be replaced.
I had a 90 Celi ST and i sold it last year with 287,000 miles and it was still runnin strong. The only thing I had to change was the timing belt that broke on me:( Now my 2000 celi gts has 64,000, and when i got it with 38,000 miles on it (ceitified) I had to get the transmision redone and the valves and springs replaced, and a bunch of other shit. But lucky me, the 6,500 dollar bill was all left to Longo Toyota;). Oh and when they had my car there, they backed it up into another one, so i was assed out a celi for 5 weeks:(. Gotta love that Warranty:D
