Bought a 2003 GT-S and the taillights had what I thought was paint overspray on them, so I ordered and installed some new Anzo Euro 221104 Tail Lights. When I was cleaning out the shed, I noticed some scratches on the lenses, and upon closer examination, discovered the taillights actually had a protective film on them! See https://goo.gl/photos/sQppFUQST4yDDY5c6 for the old taillight on the right, and the new on the left. So, I peeled off all the protective film, and the lenses are in almost perfect shape.
