Hi All, I am a new member of this site and a new owner of my first 2005 celica GT 55K miles. Has been well maintained smile.

I have a question around Oil & Oil filter change intervals. When I searched on here I see a lot of Celica owners change oil every 3 months or 3000 miles.

Correct me if I am wrong but this seems to me like a very low number. I would normally not expect to change oil for alteast 7500K miles.

I also own a Honda Civic which I fully service (including changing Oil and Oil Filter) every 10,000 miles without fail. (I do mostly motorway miles travelling to work). Have done nearly 70K miles on it and never had any engine issues.

Its Synthetic oil I use. What would be the right oil change interval for the Celica?

P.S.- The Toyota service book for the car says to change oil every 10,000 miles or 12 month period whatever is sooner.

Thanks.

I'm not sure where you are reading 3,000 miles from. Maybe your local group of friends?

Toyota recommends standard oil replacement every 7,500mi for normal driving, more often if you drive harder or have high mileage.

I too, have replaced my oil with synthetic, Though, I normally only drive the Celica maybe about 3,000 miles a year. Sometimes less. So it gets an oil change once every year in August laugh Still under 100K woot

On my other vehicle (also with synthetic), at about 10K - 15k or each 6 months, depending on how the oil looks and smells. But never past 15K miles.

Thanks CaffeineKid!

That really clears up a lot of the confusion I had!

My service book says to change oil every 10,000 miles or 12 month period whatever is sooner. Does that for the 2005 models I can wait till its atleast 10,000? (Obviously I will keep an eye on the oil colour etc.), but Im just curious?
