I just replaced the plugs and the ignition coils. It was a huge improvement. I still have a problem with engine hesitation around 1800-2000 rpm under moderate or heavy acceleration and it's much worse when raining . Because the 2nd and 4th synchros are shot I tend to not always be at the optimal rpm.

On my old Corolla replacing the spark plug wires usually helped with this problem. What is the wire called that connects to the ignition coil? Dorman Ignition Coil Connector Kit Is that it ? Do I need four? Will this help with my problem that seems to be affected by cold and moisture?

Many thanks
Steve

May be the MASS AIRFLOW SENSOR.

Swap in a known good one and reset ECU to remap fuel trim. See if that improves.
