Poor Celi
I believe that to get a perfect color match, you may have to take this to a professional. They will buff down the entire part. Then prime and repaint it with professional grade materials. You're not paying them just to have them pass over a few prays of paint. You're paying them to professionally prep, color match, paint and polish a hood part thats probably been discolored by being exposed to hot temperatures, having water left on it, having the clear coat/wax dry out and peel...etc, all causing discolor to the rest of your vehicle's paint.
A professional painter will take all this in to consideration, and do what their years of expedience has taught them, to give you a good looking final product in exchange for your money.
As I'm quite sure that you already know very well, a hood is also a removable part, which only takes two bolts on either side, to remove.
Its worth it.
As an alternate, you might look in to purchasing a carbon fiber hood for less than $500, or replacing it with another red Celica hood from the junk yard or locally for under $300.
