Celica 2004 GT here. I recently replaced a dead door lock actuator on my driver's side. We ordered the part online (the entire plastic housing) and it was not an exact match, however it fit and worked without any modification of the part. Some of the spacing was off compared to the older one, but this only resulted in a less smooth locking/unlocking when using the manual lever on the car door.
The issue I have is that whenever the key is in the ignition and the door is closed, all doors on the car
(trunk included) unlock, twice. It's not a huge issue but I worry since the first one failed that all this extra unlocking may cause failure again.
Does anyone have any idea what might be going on here? Any help is much appreciated.
