Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum and need some advice. I'm looking to buy a used 2003 Celica GT from a dealership. It has about 60K miles and one prior owner before the dealership bought it... Doing a little research, I thought paying $6K or $7K would be reasonable... but they want $10K mostly because the miles are so low. I don't know if it's a good deal... Thoughts?

A little background: The reason I'm looking at this Celica is that I had a 97 Paseo convertible that still ran great with 230K miles. I was in an accident where everyone was safe but my Paseo, not so much. The insurance adjustor is going to assess the damage and to me it looks bad and the vehicle may be considered a loss and I don't expect to get much money for it or to be able to fix it without spending a ton of money that I don't have.

I wouldn't pay $10k for the Celica unless it was a GTS.
I overpaid for my Celica GT. I think it was about $6k after taxes and fees for a 2003 with 99k miles.

EDIT: I would only pay $10k for a Celica GTS with low mileage and completely stock.
I think you should pass on that Celica that dealership is offering.

Thanks, plebsaur. That's what I was thinking as well. I'll see if I can push the dealer to go lower. If not I will be passing on it.

unless there is something incredibly special about that 2003 Celica you're looking at, have the dealer at least come near the KBB value of $3,500. it's a 15 year old compact vehicle (hatchback) which originally sold for $18k - $22k as brand new in 2002.

Thanks for the info. There doesn't seem to be anything that incredibly special... Just 60K miles. But I looked around and found a few gts models with comparable miles for much less
