Hi peepz!

I have a manual transmission '03 Celica GT. From a dead stop, I'm always left behind by cars beside me. Trucks, SUV's, Corollas all pass me. frown I shift at 2000 rpm - 2500 rpm. Surely those vehicles, mostly automatics, shift at around the same rpm as me, right? I would like it if the car kept up with the traffic. ( I don't and won't shift at 4200 rpm or redline in normal driving) Is there anything wrong with my car? confused Anyone with the same experience? What rpm do you shift at?

Being that it's a manual, is it possible that you are taking off slower because you have to think about clutch, gear, and gas? I know that when I started daily driving manual in my GT-S, I'd start a step behind the rest of traffic. (Got better eventually.)

If not that, does the car just feel plain lazy?
