Hey,
I own an 89 GT convertible that needs a ton of work. My friend and I had suspected it had a blown head gasket at the very beginning; but it didn't appear to be too serious. After awhile we decided to run a compression test on it and we finally took off the head to replace the gasket.
My major fear from the beginning was always if the head was warped and would need to be machined. After taking it out and measuring it with a feeler gauge, we were able to fit a two-thousandths under the straight edge, but not a three thousandths.
My friend was able to determine that the warpage limit was two thousandths for the 3S-FE, according to Auto zone; but since it is so close is it possible that I wouldn't need to get it machined? Or should I anyways just to be on the safe side?
