I have 2000 Toyota Celica GT 1ZZ-FE, 5 speed manual,
Grinding kinda noise.
Sounded like sand hitting the wheel well
That went on for a few days
A two days ago I was driving to the the mall about 45 minutes away and the noise continued,
Then a kinda deep squealing noise, the. She sounded fine, then another noise kinda like a band broke and was spinning around for a few seconds.
And then flapped as it was still being rotated.
I coulda ran over a bag or somthing i suppose
Then i pulled over
And when i tried to pull out she was very jumpy and didnt want to go much.
And then it was hard to put her in first and second
And now she doesnt want to reverse
And yeah thats where we are.
I was told by my grandfather that the clutch feels warn and doesn't want to disengage until at the floor if it does disengage.
While in Neutral and emergency brake disengaged, it made a clicking sound while i was physically pushing it in reverse in to my driveway after the tow home.
The transmission was supposedly rebuilt prior to my purchase of it in Nov 2016. When I bought it the already replaced 1ZZ-FE engine was blown and i put in a different 1ZZ-FE in and she ran beautifully.
since then She drove from Augusta, GA to Atlantic City, NJ in July 2017.
A few months after going to Jersey, a CV axle broke and was replaced by a shop.
in April 2018 she drove back to Augusta, GA, then to Junction City, Kansas, back to Augusta and then back to Atlantic City back to back within a week with no issues what soever with the engine, transmission or any of the driveline system.
I am thinking the transmission is totally shot but I was curious if anybody else may have an idea before I spend a lot of money to get her road worthy again.
