Hi guys,

I have a 2002 Toyota Celica GTS AUTOMATIC and I THINK a 2ZZ engine I’m not sure I’m new to all this lol
I have a rough idol when I’m in park, my car kinda shakes.

When I’m in drive with my foot on the brake my idol drops really low below 600 RPM so that’s a rough idol too.

When I’m in drive with my foot on the brake or accelerating from 0MPH it sounds like there’s water pouring or crackling that I can hear through my air vents.

WHAT IS GOING IN?!

Look up' "idle air contol valve" or "IACV" on this site. That's the first thing you'll want to look at.

Okay I’ll look that up. Thank you. What is an Idle air control value?

The IACV regulates the amount of air that goes into the engine while at idle and is the #1 cause of a rough idle on these cars. Look for the information that has already been posted on it and how you can fix it yourself by cleaning.

Okay! I got the idle fixed! It feels great!
NEXT when I’m inside there sounds like there’s water pouring or something cracking from the air vents

Nice! Was it the IACV?

Water pouring sound could be your heater core. I wouldn't worry as long as the heat works. Cracking could be heater core or just something stuck in your blower. You can drop the glove box to check and see if there is in fact some debris in your blower, but if not, I wouldn't worry as long as you're getting hot and cold air.
