Hey, welcome!
First let's narrow some things down. How many miles are on your car? Where are you from and what is the weather like? Do you have an intake? Now let me explain some possible problems and solutions...
1). High miles on your car could just mean that your Idle Air Control Valve is no good or just needs a cleaning. This is a simple procedure.
2). Cars idle higher in cold weather, which could be the cause of your high idle, if this is applicable.
3). An aftermarket intake, especially in colder weather, can cause a higher idle. This is due to the increased air flow.
If you can answer those questions, we can help you out.

That helps. I would say begin with the cheap/easy stuff. Try cleaning your Idle Air Control Valve and throttle body and see what happens. Here's a guide: https://celicahobby.com/forums/ubbt...control-valve-how-to-properly-clean.html

Good call, be sure to clean the MAF outside of the car. Is the check engine light on by the way?

I mean make sure to disconnect the MAF completely and remove it from the car. Just that you don't want to leave it plugged in when you're spraying the cleaner. And absolutely, no problem!

I had (have, maybe) the same problem and my friend who works at jiffy lube told me that the O2 sensors feeding the ecm the wrong data will trigger a high starting idle as it's overcompensating for the erroneous O2 readings. I just changed the O2 sensors in mine I'm waiting to see if the check engine light comes back on.

Yea, keep us posted. I have a similar problem and a K&N Short Ram Intake. Mine will hang out at 2000RPM on a cold start, but then if my heat is blowing, it'll dance around between 2000 and 1000. The problem usually disappears once it warms up, but sometimes if I'm unlucky, it'll dive past 500RPM and/or die at a red light (or a drive-thru). Brand new IAC valve too. Can't figure out the problem.

Ok, I think I fixed mine, but who knows. It's only been a few hours and a medium length test-drive. The problem could come back for all I know.
Anyway, I had to tighten some bolts on my exhaust pipe and pick up a new O2 sensor. It "barks" at me if I start the car with the air on now, but otherwise everything seems cool. All the codes are gone now.
Barking = (RPM bounces from 2000 - <500 twice per second).
