Hello everyone,
Sorry for how long this will be, but I want to be specific. I recently swapped an engine on a 2000 gts with a manual transmission. I did a lot of research into it and believe I did it properly. Once I start the engine it goes to around 1400 rpm then climbs to around 2000 or 2100. When the car is driven for a little bit the idle starts bouncing from 2000 to around 1400 rpm. I had a P1692 code, but changed the OCV and it went away. I cleaned the IAC, and changed out the PCV valve because I heard it can cause rough idle.
Neither have helped, and I went to a shop and had them check on it. They said they couldn't communicate with the ECU with their scan tools, and I trust them. I was able to read data off of it with a cheapy OBDII Bluetooth reader though. They also did the old spray with starter fluid check for vacuum leaks and said the idle didn't change. It seems like the ECU might be screwed, but I'm looking for any other advise. Thanks guys

Hey, welcome!
If there are no codes, then it could initially be because of the cold. I have an 01 GTS and I'm in York (see your from Pittsburgh) and my car initially idles at about 2k every morning. However, mine does relax and go down once warm.
Regardless, I would try to find a vacuum leak again. This time use flammable brake cleaner. That'll really change the idle if there is a leak. Yes, it is safe.
Also does the car feel like its functioning at full power otherwise?

I'll have to check for a leak again. Unfortunately I bought the car blown up, so I'm not sure what 100% feels like, and I've never rode in a GTS before. It's definitely got a bit of power though and it doesn't feel bogged down. Is there anything else you can recommend to narrow down the problem?

I would clean your MAF sensor and check fuel pressure next.

I forgot to mention, I changed the MAF because I had a CEL for it early on. Do you have a link to a guide on how to check fuel pressure though?
