I have installed an AEM CAI, and since the install have gotten a code for running lean (P0171). I will be installing an exhaust soon, and would like to get the ECU tuned to adjust the air/fuel mixture. Does anyone know of a good tuner between San Diego and Los Angeles who can tune a 2000 Celica GT (1ZZ-fe)? Thanks!

Hey, welcome.

Before looking into tuning, be sure that your intake is installed correctly and that everything that isn't used is plugged off. As for tuning, know that the 7th gen ECU just does not work. If you can get the ECU to accept the tune initially, I promise it won't retain it for more than a week or so. Your best bet might be something like the AEM FIC, a piggyback system. I'm running an Injen CAI with no issues so be sure to check on all that.

Thanks for the advice. I suspect it might be time to change the fuel injectors. According to the denso website the OEM part number for fuel injectors is 297-0003 (green in color). I did however find some denso injectors, part number 23250-0D050 (blue in color), for considerably cheaper. They are supposed to be made for the 1zz-fe engine as well, but specifically for 2004-2008 Corolla/Matrix. Do you know if there would be any advantage/disadvantage to using the 2nd set?

Linked below is a different form post I found about the 2 injector types:

I suppose they would function the same as long as the output is the same. See if you can get info on the CC output for each.
