Hello all. I recently purchased an 02 Celica GT. I have noticed and learned a few things over the past month. It has been in both front and rear end collisions. I bought it for $500 and had to replace the clutch, windshield, tire rod and battery. All in all not to bad.
I have since noticed multiple leak points. Passenger side floor board is wet, rear passenger seat is wet and under both tail lights is wet. Replaced tail lights so have new gaskets and sprayed the hell out of both sides with flex seal. This did not stop the leaking fully.
Used silicone around the bung in the hatch frame above rear passenger seat. Not sure if that has done anything and as for the passenger floorboard i am at a loss.
I had ordered blue led lights for the cig. Lighter and instrument cluster. Soldered one on the cluster only to find out they sent me white, not blue. ( really like the blue i did on my 88 4runner ) anyone know where i can get a cluster overlay? All the posts i have seen are years old and the one guy i saw RJautoworks i dont think is a viable source anymore.

Congrats on your recent purchase. Lucky for you, none of these issues are unheard of. I've owned 2 Celicas and between both of them, I think I've experienced all of your issues.
Regarding the leak onto the passenger side floor- It could be one of two things, heater core or door seal. If your coolant level is normal, it's probably due to the panel gap between passenger door and fender and the lack of weather stripping/insulation between them. That was the cause of mine.
Regarding the leak on the rear passenger seat- Turns out that one of the factory seals around the hatch and/or the rear quarter glass causes this leak. There are remedies for it that I'll link in the end of this post.
Regarding the leak near the tail lights- This one is not related to the tail lights. It's the hatch. Odd panel gap plus the deteriorating weather stripping would be the cause. Could try to fix but I would just replace the weather stripping.
Hello! Ill post pics of specifics but i found the bung and siliconed that a few days ago and i dont know yet if that fixed the rear seat. The hatch seal looks pretty good for the age, im actually kinda suprised. In the OP i see i did NOT mention i have replaced the upper weather strip where i thought it was leaking in the beginning. Its only wet after a rain. Sometimes i see water on the kick panel.
I'm thinking your sun roof DRAIN is causing that. I too am TRYING to fix a leak on a 2000 in both sides of the front floor. Cant see the drain holes in the roof drain- they may not be visible- or not until the roof track is removed? I have seen Utubes where they just blow in that direction w/air, but Im not convinced that would work well? Also I need to find out where they drain TO. Hoping someone- anyone can tell me and maybe show the diagram of the drains?
The water on the floor could be caused by the sunroof drain being clogged. Would make sense. But before you do anything, make sure the rubber gasket sealing your sunroof isn't cracked or torn or anything. If that looks good, then move onto the drain system. One side goes down the passenger A pillar. Just pull it off and you'll see it. The other goes to the driver side trunk opening. I mean the part of the trunk where a removable plastic panel hides an opening for the jack and tail lights. You should see a flexible drain tube in both of those places. Make sure they're not clogged.

thinking someone here would have the diagram showing the routing. Looks like the clear cover needs to come off ,then clean out the debris and maybe try to feel. It looked buried to me, but I'll know more when I can get the cover off and explore. I saw one video of someone blowing OUT the drain hole and it came out in the inner fender area just around the kick panel. May have been a corolla though....... Do let me know IF you find the pic or an explanation of where they are. George in Tallahassee
