Celica Forums General Discussion Engine and Performance 1zzfe having some problems

Hi all!

Recently acquired a 00 Toyota celica gt stock. It had a blown engine and a clogged cat, with various minor problems.
Since I've purchased and installed
jdm 1zzfe engine,
short ram,
4 to 1 header,
Stock resonator pipe and cat,
with various other parts, replacing problems as I saw.
Everything came together beautifully, with the assistance on a couple points of this forum.

The only problem I am currently dealing with is a high idle. Upon first crank, she starts at 1200 rpms. As she warms up the rpms gradually rise to 1500 to 1800 and maintains.

I've cleaned the maf sensor and throttle body,
sprayed carb cleaner to check for leaks,
triple checked all the vacuum lines are ran correct,
there are no codes, so it's not 02 sensors,
replaced the ect sensor and tps for the just incase,
usually if it's the iac there is a gallop or fluctuation...

Currently I am at a loss, hopefully someone can point me in a direction I haven't thought about.

Hey, welcome.

Good work on getting your Celica to this point. One thing I see you haven't mentioned is the idle air control valve. While it is attached to the throttle body, spraying cleaner alone won't fix it. It requires a proper cleaning. You may be doubtful, but it doesn't hurt to try. See here:

I will not be able to immediately clean the iac, until this weekend. Hopefully beforehand. I will keep posted with any results.
