I've recently ran into a problem and long story short will the transmission from my 1992 Celica GT(2.2l 4cyl w/4speed auto trans) fit a 1994 Celica GT(2.2l 4cyl w/4speed auto trans)? I want to do a lot of body work and rebuild my gen 5(92) Celica GT but need something else to drive while I do it. My engine recently started to knock so it needs to be done soon. There is a gen 6(94) Celica GT for sale near me for just a couple hundred bucks but the transmission only has reverse. Will I be ok buying the gen 6 and swapping transmissions so I can drive it while my current car is down?
