In the interior gallery of everthing celica.com, there is a picture with a digital climate control system in place of the stock one...Does anyone know where I could that or something like it
My car might be slow, but at least it looks nice!

I thought the jdm console had the screen in it...Is the digital climate control another item that I buy separately. I am very intersted in getting that climate control piece.

it's J-spec and is very hard and costly to convert a US spec to it.

I got a friend that works in Toyota that says it could be done if you have the right parts. All I need is the Digital Climate Control and he could get the rest of the parts. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the Toyota guys from West Covina have done this conversion.

Is it true that you could chose the color of the light it gives off? I heard you could chose either GREEN[/color] or AMBER . Is this true?

Is this true? well yea... because the 2000-2003 celica's had the same interior...the lighting only changed at one point so they have to offer both colors.

150 not bad, but someone please check up on the wires, etc. to see how much it cost. Btw, Stun count me in if there's a group buy on this or some sort. I've been wanting these for so long. Thanks.

it's not as easy as it looks...you have to buy that piece... and route wires everywhere and redo a bunch of things... I really don't know how hard it is going to be though.

You guys are right. Its a lot of work and cash needed to complete this conversion. I also heard you need to place censors in a lot of different places but I have Toyota hook ups. I know that this is not a plug and play conversion. Trust me I have been inquiring about this mod for a loooooong time. However, this is definitely a mod I wouldnt mind spending some cash in. All I need is the digital climate control.
Immo, Do you have any news?

Hey I'm in on any group buy thing, WHATEVER, Just as long as the first person who does the conversion "CORRECTLY" they make sure they get pictures of it and make an Install guide on how to do it, because I know I can't do this conversion blind, if I have directions, it'll be easy but yeah, I DEFINATELY want one of these, it's original and would DEFINATELY set my car apart from the rest.

Just FYI for those of you who are researching this, you will need to replace your US body control system ECU with a automatic climate control equipped JDM ECU. Also, the opening and closing of all of the vents in a US Celica are manually controlled via wire cables. On the automatic climate control Celica's, the operation of the vents is controlled by motors. So you will need to purchase the motors, remove the dash from he car and fit them to the vents some how. Unless you are good enough with wiring to create your own custom connectors and stuff, you will also need a full JDM wiring harness also. This is going to be awsome for the first person to pull this off. I've been drooling over the automatic climate control system for a long time. It is an option in every other country I can think of, I wonder why Toyota didn't make it an option for the US as well.

I was showing my friend (BMW 325Ci)the digital AC for Celica's. He said he hates his digital AC. Claims it's a pain in the ass compared to the simplicity ease of use of a knob-based air conditioner. I think it would be awesome and classy (luxurious & pimptastic) to have a digital temperature control, but my friend has shown me the other side. He said he would give up his digital AC for knobs if he could! wudduh you guys think?

I agree. I think it's easy to just adjust it as you see fit. Besides what is a "comfortable" temperature. I like my car to be like 65, others might like 75. What does the auto default to, if it's too hot, I'd be constantly adjusting it, why not just have the old analog ones.

I think that next summer this is going to be my only MOD. I won't have the money until spring but i am def. going to do this. I am been doind a lot of reseach and talking to people about this.
The problem is the JDM ECU. I need to do some more research on this to find out more about it.

yeah, the first person to find out all the goodies, and where to get it, and how to do it, PLEASE, let EVERYONE here know, cus there are a good 20-30 people who want this mod, including myself, and I'd do whatever it takes to get one! I'M A DIGI AC ADDICT!!! I'm going to talk to my Yota Contact at the dealership and see what he can scourge up for me on a JDM wiring Harness and ECU and such, because he said He could do it if he found the parts, so I'm going to check and see how his search went.

Sounds like the mod's cost may outweigh its benefit. But, I would still like to see/hear about someone doing it just to see if it can be done and for how much. Good luck.

I'm on the 50/50 side of this idea, on one hand it is a lot cooler looking then the analog, and maybe even better. But one the other hand what about all of those who have custom dash kits (it'll have to be re-done), and all of those who have changed the LED's on their cabin to say blue, then that'll have to be messed with too (and it gets screwed up then it'll suck big time), so who ever does it first your the man (or women)!!!

I do have a full kit (from what I understand) pieced together. I was very interested in doing this mod and lost interest after a few years. I am looking to sell the kit, Dash Climate control, Computer for the control, OEM Sumitomo Harness, Servo's and fan. I do have it listed on ebay, but would take less off of ebay.
